On the river we fishing guides get asked a lot of questions. The most-asked question of guides is a tie between:
1) “How do we get back to your truck?”
2) “What do you guys do all winter?”
We’ll leave the first one hanging, but answer #2 in detail:
Will Plumhoff
Will can be found chasing Redfish in Louisiana–the tug is the drug! Will’s sight-fishing skills from the Bitterroot get put to good use on the flats.
Tom Gagnon
Tom spends much of his winter hunting waterfowl and tying flies commercially.
Note the organization of a commercial fly-tyer as compared to most of us. When your desk looks like this, you tie flies by the hundred, not the dozen.
Zach Scott
Zach grabbed a stick and put on skates for the first time since he was 12, and joined a couple of hockey leagues. Don’t let that smile fool you–he’ll lay you out in a second!
Chris McAdams
Chris guided well into November, so don’t hate on him for this max level of relax. He’s spending a month in Mexico surfing, fishing, and soaking up the sun. Okay, you can hate on him a little.
Stan Spoharski
Stan switches gears in the fall and guides big game hunting trips. If you wondered how Stan got so patient at untangling clients’ lines, look no further. It takes a very steady hand….
Dan Mahoney
Between freezing in tree stands, ice fishing, getting afield with Tia, and booking trips for 2016, Dan has had his hands full this fall.
Which reminds us, Missoula’s busiest and best fishing guides are starting to book up for 2016. Call or email to talk dates, rivers, and rowers.
And thank you all for making ’15 a fabulous fishing year.
