Missoula River Conditions
The Missoula area rivers have seen an increase in flow over the last week from snow melt. We are about to turn the corner tomorrow or the next day as the weather is cooling back down. This time of year our rivers recover quickly from pushes of water caused by snowmelt and it won’t take long for the Bitterroot and other Missoula area rivers to give up some more really good fishing.
Missoula and Missouri River Fishing Report
The last two days we risked the rising flows and fished the Missoula area. Both days we had solid fishing but we had to work for em. Today we bailed and fished the Missouri because of the continually rising flows. It fished really well, and despite the wind, we had an awesome day of fishing. We nymphed and fished dry dropper and saw a lot of baetis and midges with a few fish eating on the surface. The MO should become a better and better dry fly option in the upcoming weeks. We are going to fish the Missoula area again tomorrow and will post another update soon.
