Missoula Fishing Report
We hit the river Saturday and saw our first Skwala of the year. The fish didn’t seem to be totally keyed in on the dry fly yet but seeing the big bug means the beginning of our 2013 dry fly season has officially begun. The fishing will only get better over the next week and should be solid until late April. We also saw a fair number of Nemouras, the Skwala’s little brother, and midges flying around. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful at avoiding the wind which I believe hurt our dry fly prospects. Our friends who were fishing downstream, in a more sheltered area of the river, had decent dry fly action using Nemouras. It has begun!
