Blackfoot River Fishing Report

Brown Trout

Overall the fishing has been pretty good on the Blackfoot River.  On the cloudy days the dry fly fishing has been outstanding later in the day.  In the bright sun the dry fly fishing has been spotty but there are still a few nice fish willing to come up to the surface.  Salmonflies are still hatching and more and more Golden Stoneflies will start to show up in the coming weeks.  The water is dropping hard on the Blackfoot and all of the Missoula area rivers.  More and more float options will open up soon and the fishing should be pretty good for the next few weeks as the stonefly hatches continue.
